Revving up Comfort: How TotalSim Worked with NASCAR to Enhance Cabin Comfort

NASCAR's 2022 NextGen race car introduced new cooling challenges. To address this, NASCAR worked with TotalSim to reduce cabin temperatures and improve driver comfort by testing several design options. TotalSim used advanced CFD simulations and real track data to help NASCAR design a short exhaust system with optimize airflow that significantly lowered cabin heat. The solution provided NASCAR with a more comfortable driving environment along with some future design options, showcasing the power of modeling and simulation and applying innovative thermal management using  STAR-CCM+ simulations.

With NASCAR's permission we were able to use this project and not only create a case study but also turn it into a webinar session that we presented earlier this month. We thank everyone that attended and we hope you find the content to be informative and useful for the future. During the session, our expert, Greg Padgett - Senior CFD Engineer, delved into more details on how we assisted NASCAR in enhancing cabin comfort through advanced thermal modeling techniques and STAR-CCM+ simulations. We appreciate all the engagement and thoughtful questions. If you missed or want to review the webinar, a recording is available through the link below. We look forward to seeing you at our future events and continuing the conversation!

Celebrating Trailblazers: Honoring Women Engineers

On June 23rd, we took the time to celebrate National Women in Engineering Day. On this day, we honor the incredible achievements of women engineers who are breaking barriers, driving innovation and inspiring the next generation. We have had the pleasure of having CFD engineer Robyn Ramsey on our team since 2014, and she has played a pivotal role in our company and continues to make an impact everyday. We are grateful to have her as a part of the TotalSim team and look to continue celebrating her achievements along with all other female engineers paving the way for women engineers of the future.
