Ohio Supercomputer Center Shares Case Study on Collaboration with TotalSim for NASCAR’s NextGen Race Car Thermal Management Solutions

The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) has just released a new case study showcasing its crucial role in helping TotalSim tackle a major challenge in NASCAR’s NextGen race cars: managing excessive heat in the driver’s cabin. Using OSC’s high-performance computing power, TotalSim was able to run detailed simulations of heat transfer and test multiple design solutions—including a new exhaust system—at an accelerated pace. The result? Improved cabin comfort and driver endurance during races.

This collaboration highlights the growing importance of supercomputing in industries like motorsports, where speed and precision are critical. Don’t miss the full case study to see how OSC’s resources helped NASCAR meet a tight timeline, plus watch the webinar for an in-depth look at the project from TotalSim’s Senior CFD Engineer, Greg Padgett.

PRI 2024: The Team Took On Indy

We had an awesome time at PRI 2024 in Indy! It’s always one of our favorite events of the year—so many great conversations, cool new tech, and of course, a chance to catch up with familiar faces and meet some new ones too. Big shoutout to everyone who joined Nathan’s seminar on racecar aerodynamics—what a fun and engaging discussion with an amazing crowd. Can’t wait to do it all over again next year!
